Hemp is one of the purest, most complete plants on Earth. No other single plant source can compare with the nutritional value of hemp seeds. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and are a highly nutritious source of protein.
Hemp has 3 unique nutritional factors. It has an ideal balance of Omega 3 and 6 for sustainable human health, it has a full amino acid spectrum meaning it provides complete vegetable protein, and it has a massive trace mineral content. Hemp seeds are the only edible seeds with gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Truly one of nature’s superfoods.
Whole hemp seeds are great for making hemp seed milk. They can also be sprouted or ground and used in flour recipes. We also stock hulled hemp seeds with the shell removed.
Make great tasting hemp milk, so simple and easy to do at home. If you do not have a milk maker, you can make hemp milk as below:
Soak your hemp seeds for 24 hours in distilled water
Drain, rinse and blend in a blender with a little distilled water
Strain through a cloth or sieve
The milk is best drunk immediately, although it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. If you have the hemp milk maker, follow the instructions with the machine.
